YouTube is notifying customers that they will be losing 5 channels from their live TV lineup, beginning today, December 31. The channels include CNBC World, Stadium College Sports channels, and NBC Sports Network.

The email to customers says:

Hi,

We are writing to inform you of a few changes to our channel lineup. The following channels will no longer be made available on YouTube TV starting today, December 31, 2021, and you will no longer be able to watch live or access content you may have recorded in your Library from these channels:

  • CNBC World
  • 3 Stadium College Sports channels (part of the Sports Plus bundle)
  • NBC Sports Network

Please note that NBC Sports Network is ceasing operations for all distributors, but much of its programming will be transferred to USA Network, which is available on YouTube TV.

We are sorry to share this news, but please know that at this time no other changes have been made to your YouTube TV service.

As always, thank you for being a YouTube TV Member.

Sincerely,

The YouTube TV team

NBC Sports announced in January 2021 that the network would be shutting down at the end of the year.

“At the conclusion of 2021, we have decided that the best strategic next step for our Sports Group and the entire Company is to wind down NBCSN completely, with key elements of NBCSN’s programming moving to USA Network and, in some cases, Peacock for 2022 and beyond,” NBC Sports Chairman Pete Bevacqua shared in an internal memo reported on by Deadline. “This will make USA Network an extraordinarily powerful platform in the media marketplace, and gives our sports programming a significant audience boost.”

Some content from the channel will move to USA including coverage from the Premier League, NASCAR, INDYCAR, the Olympic Games, USGA and the R&A Golf Championships, college and Olympic sports, horse racing, cycling, and more. The official move to USA will start on January 1, 2022 with a Premier League tripleheader: Arsenal vs Manchester City, Watford vs Tottenham, and Crystal Palace vs West Ham.
