Last week as part of an announcement about Local Now, the new owners of The Weather Channel listed YouTube TV as one of the services offering The Weather Channel’s Local Now service.

Local Now is a hyperlocal channel that will show local weather, sports, news, traffic, and more based on your IP address. In the past you needed a pay-TV subscription or a subscription to an OTT service such as Sling TV to access it.

Local Now will partner with the Associated Press, Reuters, Foursquare, American City Business Journals, Stadium, Cheddar, Pointslocal, SportRadar, Internet Video Archive, TrafficLand, INRIX, Flight Aware, Tribune Content Agency, and more. All in an effort to offer a new and improved experience.

Cord Cutters News reached out to The Weather Channel and received confirmation that YouTube TV will be adding Local Now to their lineup sometime next week. (Note: These dates can change but The Weather Channel says Local Now will be added at some point.)

This comes a week after YouTube TV added more FOX, CBS, and Telemundo affiliates and the Decades Network. It is also reported that YouTube TV is working on adding Cheddar, Tastemade, The Young Turks Network, and more.
