If you are a YouTube TV subscriber, there is a lot of new content coming your way later this year. Typically most streaming services don’t tell you about anything new happening until it has already happened, but YouTube TV is different. Recently there have been multiple announcements about new channels and new features coming to YouTube TV.

Today we are going to break down all of the new channels and new features coming from YouTube TV this summer.

Earlier this month, Sinclair Broadcasting Group and YouTube TV announced a new partnership to add the Tennis Channel, T2, CHARGE!, and TBD to YouTube TV.

“We are pleased to reach an agreement that brings Tennis Channel, T2 and all three of our  Emerging Networks to YouTube TV, a valued partner of ours,” said Will Bell, SVP, Head of Distribution & Network Relations for Sinclair. “As the media landscape continues to evolve, our goal remains the same – to bring our unrivaled content to people wherever they want to experience it. With Roland-Garros kicking-off May 28, the timing is perfect for YouTube TV customers.”

These channels will join YouTube TV on June 1st, 2023, and should be available in all markets.

YouTube TV also announced that this summer and into the fall, there will be improvements to Multiview and its picture quality.

Here is what YouTube TV announced that is coming later this year:

Multiview: As many have noticed, we’ve started experimenting with the multiview feature. We rolled this out to all subscribers due to high demand during March Madness and are working on some improvements ahead of the NFL season. Stay tuned for more specific updates as we get closer to the start of the season.

Picture Quality Experiments: We’re testing transcoding changes, including a bitrate increase for live 1080p content over the next several weeks. These will target devices that support the VP9 codec with high-speed internet connections. If these go well, we plan to make them permanent by this summer. More info to come!

We will be keeping a close eye on everything that is coming to YouTube TV. So please follow us for more breaking news related to cord cutting.
