YouTube TV Hopes to Make Multiview Customizable

Last week YouTube TV released an early access version of its multiview feature, allowing you to watch four streams at once. Subscribers are loving the ability to watch four March Madness games at once, but many are asking if they can customize the feature. Now YouTube TV has confirmed that they hope to make this feature customizable in the future.

Right now, the multiview feature is only available on sports channels and is targeting March Madness which starts this week. To use this feature, you will find a new multiview option at the top of your home screen in the “Top Picks For You” section.

The hope is soon you will be able to pick any channel or from a collection of channels and create costume multiview channels to watch any 2 or 4 programs you want at once.

The reason you can’t make your own multiview experiences is to make this happen, YouTube TV is creating customer channels with four games on at once. Instead of mixing it together on your streaming player, it will all be done on YouTube TVs services making for a better-streaming experience.

Right now, this product is in beta, and multiview will be upgraded in time for the NFL season with the new NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV. This is one of the improvements YouTube TV promised when they announced the NFL Sunday Ticket was coming to YouTube TV.
