YouTube TV Adds More CW Affiliates in Several Markets

YouTube TV has added The CW to channel lineups in several markets across the country. The newly added affiliates are owned by Scripps and are listed below:

The stations were part of the deal in March 2019, when Scripps and Tegna purchased 19 Nexstar TV stations for $1.32 billion. Scripps also owns CW affiliate stations in several other markets, which could mean that those areas will soon see The CW on their lineups as well.

In November 2019, YouTube TV quietly added some locals from Tegna and Nexstar, giving those outside of the Scripps-owned markets some hope that their Tegna-owned CW affiliates may be added at some point as well.

While The CW is known for programming aimed toward an audience between the ages of 18-34, affiliates will sometimes carry major league sports, including MLB and NBA games. For those in New York, that means having access to some Yankees games, when the season starts back up, now that YES Network has been dropped from YouTube TV.
