YouTube Is Offering Free Legal Movies (With Ads)

Recently YouTube quietly added about 100 hours of movies to YouTube. These movies are 100% free with ads and include a mix of well-known movies like Rocky, The Terminator, Zookeeper, Legally Blond, and others.

The growth of ad-supported streaming services has really taken off as advertisers take notice of the opportunities streaming offers. Walmart and Roku have both recently launched free services joining Pluto TV, Tubi, and Sony Crackle.

YouTube seems be testing the waters on what could turn into a dedicated legal free with ads section.

Since launch YouTube has been fighting unofficial uploads of popular movies and TV shows. By offering legal options of movies like Rocky, YouTube could help cut back on piracy. This would also help both YouTube and the content companies make money on YouTube content.

The question now is how successful will this new section be and will YouTube and their partners invest in it. For now, we will have to wait and see what YouTube does next.

If you want to find all the movies offered for free legally on YouTube, you can find the full list here.
