YouTube is Adding Survey Ads to Your TV Screen

YouTube is taking advantage of increased viewer numbers by introducing Survey Ads on TV screens. Soon when you watch YouTube and YouTube TV on your big screen, you’ll see these same ads that pop up on devices. This feature will be rolling out in the coming weeks as a way for advertisers to reach viewers in the YouTube app. YouTube TV will be getting these surveys in Q3.

Like most streaming platforms, YouTube has seen an influx of viewers during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Comscore, YouTube has the “highest reach and viewing hours among ad-supported streaming services, and represents a quarter of all streaming watch time across both subscription and ad-supported platforms in the US.”

Thanks to this increase in viewers reached, Google says it’s accelerating the launch of Brand Lift to add this kind of survey ads to TV screens. Users can easily interact or skip these surveys using their remote.

“This will enable marketers to make informed decisions about ad performance, and better optimize streaming campaigns in real time whether they are using Google Ads or Display & Video 360 for both reservation and auction campaigns. Whether a campaign is focused on ad recall, purchase intent or awareness, Brand Lift will help make budgets go further,” Google said.
