Olympic_rings_without_rims.svgYou may have heard reports that cord cutters are getting locked out of the NBC Olympics App; however, we have good news for you! YES, you will be able to access the NBC Olympics App! (Don’t trust the anti Cord Cutting press.)

For the first time ever cord cutters will have full access to the Olympics in the 2016 Summer Olympics.

If you subscribe to PlayStation Vue (even if you just sign up for one month), you will have access to every channel covering this years’ summer Olympics. Not only that but you can use your PlayStation Vue login to access the NBC Olympics app on Android, iOS, Fire TV, and Roku.

The channels that will be covering the Olympics are the following:

This is no minor thing for cord cutters. Even if you do not like the Olympics, the fact that cord cutters now can get the exact same coverage as cable subscribers shows how cord cutting can give you the same experience as cable. PlayStation Vue starts at just $29.99 a month but if you want the Golf Channel you will need to pay for their $34.99 plan. Golf, for the first time in over 100 years, will be an Olympic sport and the Golf Channel will have full coverage. (Note if you live in a market with all or most of their local channels add $10 to the monthly bill.)

PlayStation Vue works on PlayStation, Fire TV, Chromecast, iOS, Android, and PlayStation 3/4.

Cord cutting has come a long way, and with new options and services coming it will only get easier. 2016 truly is becoming the year of the cord cutter.
