XUMO vs Pluto TV: Two Great 100% Free Cord Cutting Options

XUMO

XUMO is a subscription-free service, offering over 160 channels on live content and an on-demand library, all for free. (Channel Plus is also powered by XUMO and is available for Canadian cord cutters!)

This free service is available on Hisense, Sharp, Magnavox, Panasonic, Philips, Sanyo, or VIZIO smart TV, your Channel Plus enabled LG smart TV, your iPhone or iPad, your Android device, or on your Roku. You can also cast XUMO from your mobile devices to your TVs via AirPlay (AppleTV), Chromecast, Miracast or Screencast. Most recently, XUMO expanded support to include Android TV.

Pluto TV

Another streaming service with a grid guide, Pluto TV has a layout that works well for many former cable subscribers. On the guide, you’ll find what’s coming up for the next 3.5 hours for all of the live TV channels.

Pluto has been adding many new channels to its lineup lately. The free streaming service now has over 200 channels, with more being added nearly every week. When Viacom bought Pluto TV, the company added Viacom content, along with building partnerships with major networks. You can now watch content from channels including Nick, Nick Jr., MTV, and Comedy Central for free, along with curated channels from CNN, NBC News, CBSN, the NFL, and more.

Pluto TV works with nearly all streaming devices, including Roku TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Chromecast; Vizio, Samsung, and Sony smart TVs; Windows and Mac; and iOS and Android mobile devices.
