Heading into its 26th season, the Women’s National Basketball Association is raising the price of its WNBA League Pass streaming service for the first time since its 2016 launch.  Andrew Joe Potter at The Score broke the news on Twitter:

Last year, during the league’s 25th anniversary season, WNBA League Pass streamed more than 110 games. The comprehensive service was only $16.99 for the entire season and gave fans access to every team’s games that weren’t subject to local and national blackout restrictions. WNBA League Pass also includes multi-game viewing and live DVR, so fans will never miss a moment on the hardwood. Plus, all games are available on-demand and viewers can toggle statistical overlays on or off.

For fans who only want to watch their favorite team, the WNBA also offers a single-team package for $9.99 for the entire season (blackout restrictions apply). Nationally televised games on ABC, Amazon, ESPN, ESPN2, CBS Sports Network, and CBS are not available live on the streaming platform.

Ahead of last season, WNBA League Pass became the first women’s professional league to join the short-form video platform Buzzer. The partnership allowed fans to watch ten-second previews and made League Pass games available for purchase through micropayments. The platform also made full-season WNBA League Pass sales available and it gave fans mobile access to games through customized and curated alerts.

More details regarding the future of WNBA League Pass will be released before the 2022 WNBA regular season tips off on Friday, May 6.
