The Winner of the Best Streaming Device of 2017 Is… (2017 Cordie Winners)

Sports awardsEvery year we ask our readers to vote on the best services, devices, and more for our yearly Cordie Awards. This year many of our readers took the time to let their voices be heard.

Today we are proud to announce the winner of the Cordie for the Best Streaming Device of 2017.

This vote is for the best brand of player, not a specific player. We looked at Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV to name a few.

How did our readers vote?

In third place is the Apple TV with 17.4% of all votes. It will be interesting to see what Apple does over the next year as their new Apple TV 4K answers many of the drawback of their older 4th gen Apple TV.

In second place is the Fire TV with 18.5% of all votes. Amazon has found a loyal following, and while it is not as old as the Apple TV Amazon seems to have found a dedicated following with their lineup of Fire TV players. The question now is can they hold on to their lead over the Apple TV.

The winner of the 2017 Cordie for Best Streaming Device is…

Roku

This one should not surprise anyone. Roku has dominated the streaming device market for years now and, according to 51.5% of our readers, it is the best streaming device on the market.

But can Roku hold on to their lead? Both Apple and Amazon have rolled out several new products that now include the features older models lacked; however, Roku has a very dedicated and loyal following services out there.

Other Players:

Android TV came in at 7.4% and Chromecast came in at 1.9%.
