Will DIRECTV NOW Offer the NFL Network? We Try to Cut Through the Rumors…

Yesterday a post popped up saying that DIRECTV NOW will offer the NFL Network and NFL RedZone soon. I want to urge caution though it is possible that this will not happen.

The primary source this post has is a screen shot from a DIRECTV NOW chat agent. Sadly DIRECTV NOW’s chat agents have a history of being wildly off in what they tell people. I have even heard from readers who said chat agents told them that they have no plans to add the NFL Network.

As best I can tell DIRECTV NOW chat agents are graded by how fast they get to the next person. So the DIRECTV NOW agent is likely saying anything they think you want to hear so you will close the chat box and they can move on to the next person.

A perfect example of this is Roku support for DIRECTV NOW. For months DIRECTV NOW chat agents told people that Roku support would be here this week or this month; however, it took months for Roku support to show up.

It is possible that DIRECTV NOW will add the NFL Network soon but it is just as possible that they won’t. Currently out of the 6 major live TV streaming services on the market only Sling TV and PlayStation Vue offer the NFL Network. Yet at the same time recently several DIRECTV NOW chat agents have said it is coming.

So in short I strongly encourage you to wait and see before you spend money expecting it to have the NFL Network. Too often people have spent money only to find out that what a chat agent said would happen didn’t.
