Apple on Thursday released a software update that closes two vulnerabilities in its products that let hackers install spyware.

The company released iOS and iPadOS 16.6.1, macOS 13.5.2, tvOS 16.6 and watchOS 9.6.2, covering iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple TV boxes and Apple Watches. The software updates can be accessed in the settings menu of each device, or with the Watch app on your iPhone for the Apple Watch.

The patch closes two vulnerabilities that cybersecurity researchers from Citizen Lab at The University of Toronto discovered could be exploited to deliver NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware. Pegasus made headlines since it was used by governments around the world to spy on journalists, lawyers and human rights activists.

In general, it’s good to update your iPhone or Apple product regularly with the latest version of its software. It’s doubly important to do so this time.
