Unfortunately, when it comes to subscriber counts, most live TV streaming services don’t release exact numbers so it can be difficult to determine which services are the most popular. We have heard from analysts that give their opinions but there is one thing we can look at. This one way we can get an idea of which service is driving the most excitement by its subscribers is looking at its following on social media services.

So today, we’re taking a look at the Reddit boards for some of the major streaming services to see how subscriber counts compare and what users are saying about each service.

r/hulu has 36,200 members. Keep in mind that this includes all versions of Hulu, which affects the numbers. On this board, many members are sharing links to shows found on Hulu and talking about what they’re watching on the streaming service. There are also some recent threads about the upcoming changes to the Hulu guide and other features.

r/youtubetv has 19,800 members. The discussion on YouTube TV’s board is more support focused, with members asking about using specific features and using the service on different devices.

r/vue, the board for PlayStation Vue, has 14,600 members. The discussion on the board includes many threads asking for solutions to problems with features including DVR and multi-view, with members offering helpful advice for resolving issues.

r/directvnow has 13,400 members. Right now, the board is filled with posts about CBS stations returning to the streaming service. There has been some discussion about the name changing to AT&T TV Now, but there’s also a new board r/atttvnow with just 100 members.

r/slingtv has 10,200 members. There’s a lot of discussion on the board about pairing the streaming service with an antenna to get live, local channels at an affordable price. Many users are also sharing information about watching regional sports.

r/fuboTV has 1,000 members. Unsurprisingly, many of the posts on the fuboTV board are sports related. Members are sharing advice about watching their favorite teams and setting up the recording feature to catch games.

r/philoTV has just 2,102 members. However, the posts on the board are generally sharing great experiences with the streaming service.

r/attwatchtv has 238 members. Discussion on the board is mostly users asking about features, including using credentials to log into other apps.

We’ll be seeing several new streaming services launching in the upcoming months and Reddit users are sharing information about what they’re looking forward to. r/disneyplus already has 6,000 members. HBO max does not yet have its own board and discussion about Apple TV+ is happening on the r/appletv board with 55,700 members.
