When Is Amazon’s Fire TV Adding YouTube, YouTube TV, & YouTube Kids? You Asked, We Answer

youtube tv logoAlmost every day someone asks us when will Amazon add YouTube, YouTube TV, and YouTube Kids. In April, Google and Amazon announced that YouTube, YouTube Kids, & YouTube TV will be coming back to the Fire TV sometime this year. Ever since that announcement was made, we’ve had daily requests for a date. During our weekly Cord Cutting Q&A’s this question comes up at least once every single week. So, we made this post to try to address the huge number of questions we are receiving.

No date has been set but it looks like finally, Fire TV owners will have an official app for YouTube. We do have a hint as to when it will be added. Google has announced that Amazon Prime Video will be coming to Android TV sometime this summer. Amazon Prime Video is on some Android TV devices, but it’s not officially supporting Android TV so many still do not have it. That will be changing soon as a part of the deal to bring YouTube to the Amazon Fire TV included adding Amazon Prime video to Android TV.

We wish we could give an exact date, but Amazon has declined to comment beyond saying sometime this year. The good news is you can access YouTube through the Fire TV’s Silk browser or Firefox browser.

As soon as we learn more, we will post a full update, so please make sure to subscribe to our newsletters, Twitter, or Facebook to make sure you don’t miss the news.
