Wheel of Fortune Extends Vanna White’s Contract as Pat Sajak Begins His Last Season

Wheel of Fortune kicked off its 41st season on September 11, marking the end of tenured host Pat Sajak, who is leaving the show in 2024. While fans prepare to say farewell to Sajak, they can be assured that Vanna White will continue spinning letters for at least another two years.

CBS confirmed White extended her contract through the 2025/2026 season, though the terms have not been disclosed. White has also renewed her contract with the spinoff series Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, entering its fourth season this fall.

This summer, audiences were left wondering if White would continue in the wake of Sajak’s pending retirement. She had asked for a massive pay bump, even if it was still half of Sajak’s $15 million-per-episode salary. While White has been a prominent member of Wheel of Fortune for 18 years, her pay stagnated at $3 million.

She will be joined by Ryan Seacrest, who is taking over hosting duties next fall through the 45th season.

Pat’s daughter Maggie Sajak is also returning for another season, the show’s fan ambassador for the past three years. She will engage fans through social media by offering ways for viewers to win cash prizes, vacations, merchandise, and weekly sweepstakes called Fan Fridays.

Sajak will travel with Collette, a worldwide guided tour company, to showcase the week’s “FAN-tastic prize” Wheel Watcher Club members can win by playing “Word of the Day.” She’ll be stopping off in Newport, Rhode Island, Portland, Maine, New York City, and Europe, to list a few. Instead of announcing winners during the show, players must check the Wheel of Fortune website. Register for the Wheel Watchers Club to be eligible to play.

Wheel of Fortune is one of the most successful game shows in history, earning seven Emmy Awards since debuting in 1975. White joined the show in 1982. The series is still as popular as ever and racks up more than 20 million viewers each week.
