Mulan launches on Disney+ tomorrow…sort of. There’s been a lot of talk about the movie, from its shifting timeline to its move to straight-to-streaming to its premiere outside of the US. Here’s what’s happening with the film, how you can watch it, and what to expect from this live action remake.

When Does Mulan Premiere?

The film will be available to stream beginning Friday, September 4. To watch the movie, Disney+ subscribers will need to pay for Disney+ Premier Access.

How Much Will it Cost?

The cost to rent the movie with Disney+ Premier Access will be $29.99, as an “early access” fee, on top of a regular Disney+ subscription of $6.99 per month.

How Can You Rent Mulan?

In addition to getting early access directly through Disney+, you can also get Premier Access through distribution partners. Here’s what the Disney+ Help Center says.

What is Premier Access?

Starting September 4, with Premier Access, you can watch Mulan before it’s available to all Disney+ subscribers. Disney+ will offer Premier Access to Mulan for $29.99 on disneyplus.com and select platforms, including Apple, Google, and Roku. Once you have Premier Access to Mulan, you can watch as many times as you want on any platform where Disney+ is available. Your access to Mulan will continue as long as you are an active Disney+ subscriber.

When Will Mulan be Available for All Disney+ Subscribers?

The movie will be available for everyone with a Disney+ subscription on December 4, 2020, just a few months after early access begins.
