What to Expect from Amazon’s Fire TV in 2020

2020 is here and one of the hottest devices in cord cutting right now is Amazon’s Fire TV. So, what should we expect from the Fire TV for cord cutters? Here are a few things we expect from Amazon with the Fire TV.

New Fire TV Sticks

In 2020, the current lineup of Fire TV Sticks are starting to show their age especially the HD version because it is now one of the oldest streaming players still on the market.

Look for Amazon to roll out new Fire TV Sticks in 2020. Also, it is possible that Amazon will ditch the slightly cheaper HD version.

New Fire TV Recast DVRs

In 2018, Amazon released an OTA DVR for your antenna. Since then Amazon has slowly been improving it with software updates. Keep an eye out for a new Fire TV Recast DVR most likely in late 2020.

New User Interface

Look for Amazon to update the Fire TV user interface. Amazon has recently been rolling out an updated user interface for Prime Video. Look for this update to focus on promoting Amazon Channels subscription services.

Also look for Amazon to make finding content you subscribe to easier to find in a single spot inside the Fire TV user interface.

Recently Amazon has been working hard to push Amazon Channels subscriptions because Amazon gets a small credit for each subscription made through Amazon Channels.

There you go… the three things we expect from Amazon’s Fire TV in 2020.
