Weekend Lineup: Black Widow on Disney+, UFC 264 on ESPN+, Barb & Star on Hulu

This weekend, Disney has all of your entertainment needs covered with superheroes, a UFC rivalry coming to a head in the Octagon, and a new movie premiere for some comic relief.

Here’s what’s coming up on Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu.

Disney+: Black Widow, Premiering July 9

Black Widow is the next long-awaited Marvel movie to come to Disney+. In the movie, per Disney, Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.

Wondering where the film fits in the Marvel timeline? Black Widow’s story takes place after Captain America: Civil War and before the character’s appearance in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

Scarlett Johansson is back in her role as Black Widow, starring alongside Florence Pugh as Yelena, David Harbour as The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz as Melina.

The film premieres on Disney+ with Premier Access (for an extra $29.99) and in theaters on July 9.

ESPN+: UFC 264, Starting 6 pm ET on July 10

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier are bringing their rivalry to the Octagon this weekend as UFC 264 takes place in Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena and on ESPN+ for viewers at home.

The two main card fighters have a history, with McGregor earning a TKO victory in under two minutes against Poirier in a 2014 featherweight fight. Poirier avenged the loss with a knockout in January during UFC 257. He’s aiming for a repeat performance on Saturday night. McGregor is confident Poirier won’t get the satisfaction, telling Rolling Stone, “I’m going to knock him out. Without question. I’m the most dangerous I’ve ever been, I’m the most focused I’ve ever been.”

This will be the first UFC fight to take place in front of a full crowd in Las Vegas since January 2020 and one that fans won’t want to miss.

The UFC 264 Main Event will stream exclusively on ESPN+ with PPV for $69.99 on July 10.

Hulu: Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, Premiering July 9

Hulu has a handful of new titles being added to the service over the weekend, including one movie that has earned reviews with lines like “Mumolo and Wiig prove masters of blending silliness with randomly raunchy jokes and the sublimely absurd to create a movie that is a non-stop laugh riot.”

In the Bar and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, Lifelong friends Barb and Star embark on the adventure of a lifetime when they decide to leave their small Midwestern town for the first time ever. Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo play the two title characters, so expect the film to give you the same feeling as Bridesmaids, which the two also co-wrote together.

Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar will be available to stream on Hulu on Friday, July 9.
