WatchESPN is Going Away to Be Replaced By The ESPN App

3 men sitting on couch watching tvToday ESPN began notifying subscribers that the WatchESPN app is going away June 30th 2019. If you want to watch ESPN content on your mobile device you will need to download the ESPN app.

Here’s the notification users are receiving when logging into the app:

Slowly ESPN has been adding features of the WatchESPN app to the ESPN app. Now it seems that ESPN has decided to end support for its long running WatchESPN app. The good news is all the features you’ve enjoyed in the WatchESPN app are now available in the ESPN app.

Some time ago, ESPN updated the WatchESPN app on Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV to be just the ESPN app. Now it seems that mobile devices are getting the same treatment.

You can continue to use the WatchESPN app until June 30th 2019. At that time the app will stop working.

This is breaking news we will reach out to ESPN to learn more and post updates when we can.
