Antennas
The best way is with an antenna. Nothing can beat the great HD picture that free over-the-air TV offers. Not sure if you can get ABC? Check out AntennaRecommendations.com. Just type in your address, and it will show you what channels you can get with an indoor antenna and with an outdoor antenna.
Streaming
So what if an antenna is not an option? While antennas are great, an estimated 20 million Americans live in locations that cannot get ABC with an antenna.
ABC will be live streaming “The Oscars” on its ABC News apps (I think also on its regular ABC apps also). If you own a Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and other streaming players that have the ABC app you will get a free HD stream of the event.

The Backup Plan
The issue with these streams is sometimes free streams epically go down. So here are a few paid backup options.
Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, and DIRECTV NOW all offer ABC as an option in a growing list of markets. Although far from perfect, you may want to see if they offer your local ABC affiliate where you live. Just head to their sites to see what is available in your area.
Hopefully that has helped you get access to the “2017 Oscars” without the need for a 2-year cable TV contract.
