How to Watch Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. Without Cable TV

Recently getting access to Nickelodeon shows became a lot harder. First Sony’s PlayStation Vue dropped Viacom channels including Nickelodeon. Next Viacom pulled its new shows from Hulu.

This made it harder for many cord cutters who relied on these services; however, there is good news because cord cutters do have options to access these shows without paying for cable TV.

So here is a short guide on how to watch Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. without paying for cable or agreeing to a 2-year contract. (Also thanks to the readers who asked for a guide on Nickelodeon. Do you have a channel you would like a guide for? Leave us a comment and let us know.)

DIRECTV NOW

The only live TV service that has Nickelodeon is DIRECTV NOW. It also offers Nick Jr. and Nicktoons. So if you want a live feed of Nickelodeon, DIRECTV NOW is the service you need to get.

The good news is DIRECTV NOW offers a free 7-day trial if you are unsure if it is a good fit for you.

Sling TV

If Nickelodeon is not needed but you want Nick Jr. you may want to check out Sling TV, which includes Nick Jr. and Nicktoons in its service.

If you want to give it a try, Sling TV offers a free 7-day trial to test out the service.

Amazon Prime

Amazon has many older seasons of shows such as “SpongeBob,” “Big Time Rus”, “iCarly,” and more all part of Prime.

It also sells newer seasons of Nickelodeon shows starting at $14.99. (My daughter can’t tell the difference between HD and SD for many shows especially cartoons.) Stocking up on a few older shows is a great way to save money over a monthly subscription.
