WarnerMedia Launches New Streaming Service ‘Ride’ to Watch in the Car

WarnerMedia is making it easier for parents to keep kids entertained during long car rides, with the launch of a video services called WarnerMedia Ride. The service will be available for smartphones and tablets that connect to AT&T WiFi hotspots in cars, at no extra cost.

Content on WarnerMedia Ride will include news and sports programming and content from brands such as Bleacher Report, Boomerang, Cartoon Network, CNN, TBS, TNT and more. AT&T also plans to offer HBO Max for qualifying data plans next year.

With General Motors as the initial partner for the service, the service is available to owners of certain models of GM’s Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. WarnerMedia Ride is available in the App Store and Google Play starting today. Customers will have a user-friendly interface with a new authentication feature that lets users access content once the app senses the vehicle’s Wi-Fi hotspot. The company noted that the app is for passenger use only when the vehicle is being operated.

WarnerMedia Ride will also be available to AT&T in-car wireless subscribers in car brands including Acura, Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Honda, Infiniti, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Porsche, Rolls Royce, RAM, Subaru, Toyota and Volvo.

Vehicle owners can go to my.gm.com to get more information and find out if their vehicle is eligible for WarnerMedia content.
