In a first for WarnerMedia, the company took the stage at the 2019 IAB Podcast Upfront in New York October 16 to announce new original content being added to it’s premiere podcast sales network, The Roost, a division of Rooster Teeth and WarnerMedia.
“WarnerMedia’s focus on the podcast space is another way the company is generating strategic, 360-degree brand extension opportunities for our portfolio of high-profile entertainment, news and kids’ content,” says Tyler Moody, VP/GM, WarnerMedia Podcast Network. “Whether it’s working with independent podcast creators on content or engaging with advertisers to build a bigger campaign, we’re able to add additional scale to our portfolio, additional revenue opportunities, and another layer to our fan engagement strategy.”
In a press release, WarnerMedia the company announced it’s introduced enhanced solutions for more targeted ads, allowing marketers to reach specific audiences using the WarnerMedia Data Cloud to provide listener stats like age, education and income levels, etc. The company is furthering it’s investment in podcast advertising and now has a dedicated sales team to target these specific categories to deliver more custom advertising offerings.
WarnerMedia Podcast Network announced several new shows that will launch throughout the end of the year and into 2020. This is in addition to more than 70 popular podcasts in the network’s current library.

Turner Sports basketball commentators Candace Parker and Kristen Ledlow to co-host a new podcast that will debut during the 2019-20 NBA season.
TCM’s The Plot Thickens
Hosted by TCM’s Ben Mankiewicz, this new podcast features an intimate conversation with acclaimed film director Peter Bogdonovich and will premiere in spring 2020
