The Warner Bros movie Clouds that was originally set to premiere in theaters will now head right for streaming on Disney+ instead. The film is following suit of many movies this season choosing to forego the theatrical window and make a streaming debut.
However, what makes this choice so interesting is the fact that Warner Bros chose to sell off the rights to Clouds to Disney+, when it has its own streaming service launching this month. Warner Bros-owned HBO Max seems like the more logical home for the movie.
There’s no set date for when Clouds will be released on Disney+, but it was originally scheduled to hit theaters later this month.
Clouds is an upcoming American drama film directed and produced by Justin Baldoni, from a screenplay by Kara Holden, Patrick Kopka and Casey La Scala. It is based upon the novel “Fly a Little Higher” by Laura Sobiech. In the story, a teenager is diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer and finds a way to inspire others with the little time he has left.
