Warner Bros. Discovery is Sending ‘Young Sheldon’ to Netflix Later This Week

Just last week, we learned that Young Sheldon, a prequel series to the CBS hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory, is concluding its run next year after seven seasons. Now, Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that Young Sheldon will be coming to Netflix on November 24, 2023, and was first spotted by What’s on Netflix.

The final season of Young Sheldon will debut on February 15 and end with a one-hour series finale on May 16. The show debuted in 2017 and followed a young Sheldon Cooper, played by Iain Armitage, as a 9-year-old child prodigy living in Medford, Texas. Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory, served as executive producer and narrated the series. Now you can catch up on the hit show before the final episode airs on CBS.

Young Sheldon will continue to stream on Max also but will now be available on Netflix for fans to watch if they don’t have Max. Netflix will get seasons 1-5 so seasons 6 will remain a Max exclusive for now.

The seventh season on Young Sheldon will be shorter than the others due to the disruption in production stemming from the dual Hollywood strikes. Fans grew concerned last season when Sheldon began creating an extensive college educational grants catalog, hinting the genius would soon be heading to the California Institute of Technology, signaling a lead into The Big Bang Theory

“As a prequel to one of the biggest comedies, Young Sheldon proved lightning can strike twice,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, according to People. “It set itself apart with a remarkable cast that felt like a family from the first moment we saw them on screen and brought characters to life with unique, heartfelt stories that drew audiences in from the start. We extend a sincere thank you to executive producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro, and Steve Holland and the entire writing and producing teams for six wonderful seasons. We look forward to seeing their final season unload and giving it a proper send off with the best episodes yet for their fans to enjoy.”

The final season airs on CBS starting February 15 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
