Want a Free iPhone 15? Boost’s New Plan Gives You Annual Upgrades

Boost Mobile is hoping the lure of a free iPhone 15 — and annual upgrades — will be enough to sign up for its new plan.

Boost, a unit of satellite TV provider Dish Network, unveiled Infinite Access for iPhone. The $60-per-month plan comes with unlimited talk, text and data, but also comes with Apple’s latest flagship smartphone without any trade-in needed. The plan allows you to upgrade to next year’s iPhone.

This represents one of the most aggressive offers on the heels of Apple’s announcement of its new iPhones and Apple Watches. Even as the larger carriers are doling out big trade-in offers, Dish is offering up its phone without the need to turn in an older device. The launch of a new iPhone represents a big opportunity for carriers to nab new customers since many start comparison shopping for the best deals to offset the pricey phones. Boost, which has been bleeding customers ever since Dish purchased the prepaid carrier from Sprint in 2020, needs to stand out if it wants to turn things around.

The offer covers up to $1,000 on any iPhone, with the more expensive models incurring an additional monthly charge. It requires a credit qualification and for customers to sign up for a three-year device financing agreement.

Customers who make 12 consecutive monthly payments are eligible to upgrade to the next iPhone at no extra cost. Customers are also expected to keep the phone in good condition since they will need to turn it in for the next upgrade.

The iPhone 15 starts at $799, while the iPhone 15 Plus starts at $899. The iPhone 15 Pro is $999, while the Pro Max is $1,199.

You’ll be able to sign up for the program starting on September 15. Apple’s newest phones come out on September 22.

Earlier this summer, Boost partnered with Amazon to serve as a partner for new customer signups with a $25-a-month plan. Later this week, Amazon customers can sign up for updates on this new plan by going here.

As with its other unlimited data plan, you may see a slowdown if you exceed 30 gigabytes of data a month.
