Walmart Stops Selling Its New Onn $14.99 Google TV Streaming Player

Back in November Walmart quietly released a new $14.99 Google TV powered streaming player. This comes after it released earlier this year a $19.88 Google TV powered streaming player. Walmart never officially announced this new streaming player just quietly listed it on the website. Now Walmart has marked this streaming player as out of stock and removed it from search results.

Update: Walmart says the Onn HD Stick was a temporary holiday offer but more will be coming in the spring of 2024.

The streaming stick comes with 1.5GB of RAM and only streams in HD. It may not be the most powerful device out there, but for it being only HD that is likely more than enough. This is very similar to the Walmart $19.99 Onn Google TV, but that version was released earlier this year. The main difference is the earlier version is in 4K and this new cheaper model is just in HD.

Recently, Walmart raised the price of this stick by a few dollars but now has completely stopped selling the new device, marking it as out of stock, similar to other discontinued Onn products.

Walmart was unavailable for comment before the time of this posting.

With Walmart never officially announcing the HD only streaming stick and the more powerful 4K version costing just a few dollars more, it seems Walmart is focusing on that device. It is possible that Walmart just wanted to clear out its stock of this HD streaming stick once it decided to no longer sell them.

For now, though, if you were looking for a cheap Google TV device, the Google TV 4K device at $19.88 may be the one you want.
