Walmart Launches a New Line of Higher-End Onn Google TV Smart TVs to Build On Its Popular Streaming Players

Walmart has expanded its Onn private-label electronics lineup with a new premium series of Google TV smart televisions designed to double as decorative art pieces when not in use for viewing content. The collection, marketed under the name The Fresco Art Gallery, centers on 4K UHD displays that incorporate magnetic wooden frames and a dedicated Gallery Mode, allowing the screen to blend into living spaces more like framed artwork than traditional electronics.

Available in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes, the models feature an anti-reflection matte display that reduces glare and supports clearer viewing in varied lighting conditions. Buyers can choose between walnut and golden brown frame finishes, both of which attach magnetically for easy installation or removal. A mounting kit is included, featuring a telescopic hanger that helps the television sit closely against the wall for a streamlined appearance.

The 55-inch version is priced at $548, while the larger 65-inch model is listed at $698 . Both sizes deliver 4K UHD resolution with support for HDR Ultra, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos audio. An AIPQ picture processing engine works alongside a wide color gamut to enhance tonal range and detail. For gaming, a DLG 120Hz Game Mode aims to provide smoother motion and reduced latency.

Powered by Google TV, the sets integrate Gemini for voice-based content discovery, recommendations tailored to user interests, and control of compatible smart home devices. Additional connectivity options include Google Cast for streaming media from mobile devices, along with support for Apple AirPlay and HomeKit. Gallery Mode allows the television to display a rotating selection of digital artwork or personal photos, transforming the unit into a customizable art display when powered down or set to idle.

This launch positions the Onn brand further into the higher end of the smart television market, where products increasingly emphasize design aesthetics alongside performance. The Fresco series follows other Onn Google TV models that start at lower price points around 250 dollars for more conventional 4K sets. By adding the art-focused features and magnetic frames, Walmart targets consumers seeking televisions that minimize visual clutter in living rooms, dens, or open-plan spaces.

The magnetic frames are designed to be lightweight and simple to handle, enabling owners to switch finishes or remove them as needed without specialized tools. The matte screen surface further supports the art-like presentation by reducing reflections that might otherwise disrupt the illusion of a static painting or photograph. Combined with the included wall-mount hardware, the overall package encourages flush installation that closely approximates the look of gallery-hung artwork.

Early availability is through Walmart’s website and select stores, with free shipping offered on online orders and a standard 30-day return window. Protection plans and professional wall-mount installation services are available as optional add-ons at checkout. The televisions ship in manufacturer packaging and are sold and fulfilled by Walmart.

The Fresco Art Gallery joins a growing category of lifestyle televisions that prioritize form as much as function. Similar concepts from other manufacturers have popularized the idea of screens that serve dual purposes, and Walmart’s entry brings the concept to a more accessible price range under its Onn brand. The inclusion of Google TV with Gemini further differentiates the models by embedding advanced voice assistance and personalized content curation directly into the viewing experience.

Picture quality benefits from the combination of 4K resolution, wide color support, and advanced processing, while the audio enhancements from Dolby Atmos aim to complement the visual upgrades. Gaming performance receives attention through the 120Hz mode, making the sets suitable for both casual and more demanding play. Cross-platform casting features ensure compatibility with a wide range of smartphones and tablets, whether running Android or iOS.

Overall, the new line reflects Walmart’s continued investment in its Onn electronics portfolio, moving beyond entry-level options to offer higher-specification models with distinctive design elements. The Fresco series specifically addresses demand for televisions that can remain visually appealing even when switched off, using the wooden frame and digital art capabilities to achieve that goal. With pricing that undercuts many comparable lifestyle televisions while delivering modern smart features and solid core performance specifications, the models expand consumer choices in the mid-to-premium segment of the market.
