Walmart is Offering Free Phones In Partnership With Verizon

Verizon recently revealed three new phones for the network’s Straight Talk Wireless brand, exclusively sold at Walmart. New prepaid Verizon members can get a free phone with in-store activation.

A spokesperson for Verizon stated the company aims to “create more compelling offers for value-conscious consumers.”

The Moto G Stylus 5G is priced at $199 but Walmart customers get it free by signing up for three months of service for $45 per month. Verizon is also offering a free Motorola G 64 GB Power model if signing up for at least one month of a $45 or more plan. The third freebie phone offered is a 5G Motorola G Power 128 GB model for signup with a $45 or more three-month activation plan.

Walmart will honor Verizon’s deal through August 21st, 2023, or while supplies last. Phones and plans must be activated at a Walmart store to get in on these prices.

Verizon is also offering the Google Pixel 6a at a $100 discount for anywho who switches to its Total plan from another carrier. This offer is valid in both Verizon stores and Walmart locations until June 30th or while supplies last.

While companies have offered free phones in exchange for choosing their service, a new trend is emerging where purchases and activation happen at Walmart instead of individual carriers’ retail locations.

Verizon has offered free phones at Walmart before with the Samsung Galaxy A03 series, as did Cricket with its Moto G Pure models, and T-Mobile has been giving away its Metro models as well.
