Vudu Announces a Launch Date For Apple TV Support

Today Vudu the streaming service owned by Walmart announced a date for when they will add Apple TV support.

Vudu originally announced plans to add Apple TV support back in June 2017. Now they set a date of August 22nd 2017 for when you will be able to added Vudu to your Apple TV.

Here is the original announcement:

There’s a lot going on just north of us in the city of San Francisco. Big stuff. Important stuff. And announcements. Lots of announcements. So we’ve decided to share one of our own.

In honor of all things Apple today, we thought we’d share a couple of screens from our Apple TV app that’s in development. We want to bring you the best possible app and Vudu experience, so we’re still tweaking and fine-tuning – but stay tuned for a fall release.

The downside is from the screen shots it looks like you won’t be able to buy anything on the Apple TV Vudu app. It looks like you will need to buy your Vudu movies and TV show on a computer or Roku and view them on your Apple TV. You will get access to their limited free ad supported movies.

Here are some screenshots of the new Vudu app on the Apple TV.
