Vizio Teams Up With Pluto TV to Launch WatchFree

Today Vizio announced that they are launching a new streaming service called WatchFree. The service is powered by Pluto TV and is, in short, a reskinned version of Pluto TV’s liner channels. Vizio smart TVs had already had a Pluto TV app, but now they are building it out into WatchFree and offering deeper integration into Vizio SmartCast TVs.

“Powering VIZIO’s WatchFree service is a pivotal next step in our goal to deliver free, premium entertainment to as many consumers as possible,” states Tom Ryan, co-founder, and CEO of Pluto TV. “From hit TV shows to blockbuster movies, news, sports, lifestyle and more, WatchFree is a gamechanger for cord-cutting enthusiasts.”

With this new WatchFree service Vizio TV owners will be able to access movies and TV shows in the following categories News, Comedy, Entertainment, Curiosity, Chill Out, Movies, Music + Radio, Geek + Gaming, Sports, and Life + Style.

One thing that is not clear right now is if Vizio’s WatchFree service will include Pluto TV’s on-demand movies and TV shows. The good news is even if you don’t have a Vizio TV you can access Pluto TV on the following devices:
