Vidgo’s Outage Was Caused By Missed Payments to Vendors But New Funding May Save The Company

Vidgo, a live TV streaming service offering ESPN, FS1, and more, has been down for almost a month now, raising questions about whether it will shut down completely. Cord Cutters News confirmed with Vidgo that the outage is caused by a vendor dispute but that they plan to restore the service and continue offering its live TV service.

Now, StreamTV Insider has said and Cord Cutters News has confirmed that Vidgo has missed payments to vendors, causing the outage. This was caused by funding for Vidgo being pulled, leaving the company struggling to pay its bills.

Vidgo like most streaming services, has yet to turn a profit and has instead relied on investors to support its bills. Cord Cutters has confirmed that multiple companies that looked at investing in Vidgo recently declined to invest in Vidgo. However there are reports that Vidgo has plans that will see the service relaunch.

For now Vidgo has not posted an update on its Facebook page since October 1, 2023. This has led many to wonder if the service would ever return. Cord Cutters News can confirm they are still working on a path to return but for now no public announcement has been made on what that will look like.

For more details on the full timeline of the Vidgo outage and what led up to it make sure to read the StreamTV Insider story HERE.

For now, that is all we know about the outage. Vidgo costs $69.99 per month, and you can stream over 110+ live channels, on-demand, and record the event with DVR. Current subscribers will get $10 off a month for the next six months bringing the cost of the service down to $59.99 according to Vidgo. Many customers who remain paying for the service are on the early discounts that have kept the price of the service low.

Vidgo has repeatedly told Cord Cutters News that it does not plan to shut down despite a prolonged outage. This comes as Vidgo said it is still working with the vendor to restore service.

We will update the story once the service is back online. If you’re looking to switch, check out our breakdown of other live TV streaming services.
