Vidgo’s $10/Month Intro Offer is Attracting Cord Cutters with Sports, News & Entertainment (Limited Time Deal)

(This post is in partnership with Vidgo.)

Vidgo introduced an offer for both new and returning customers last month, bringing the cost of the service down to just $10/month for the first two months. Vidgo says the service has seen “explosive subscriber growth” with the introduction of the deal.

The idea is that giving customers two full months to try the service at a discounted price offers a better opportunity to decide if Vidgo might meet a viewer’s needs, in contrast with a week long (or less) free trial. While current cord cutters might already have an idea of what they’re looking for in a streaming service, those who are making the jump from cable for the first time might need a bit more time to decide if a service is going to offer what they need. Rather than committing to a $65/month plan, Vidgo is offering the opportunity to spend two months testing the waters without a high price tag.

“These are definitely “trying times” for America. Social distancing and quarantine have made streaming “tryers” out of every household in the country. With little to do but evaluate entertainment options, captive stay-at-home viewers have gotten wise to not only suffocating long term cable contracts, but also vMVPd’s with overblown prices and under delivered content,” said Scott Aiken, Vidgo CMO when Vidgo added WGN America (soon to become NewsNation) to its lineup recently.

While the $10 offer is attracting new subscribers, will Vidgo be able to keep them after the into offer when the regular price of $55/month goes into effect? The team behind the service believes they can. While acknowledging that Vidgo is lesser known than its competitors, without the brand recognition of YouTube TV or the marketing budget of Hulu, Vidgo is focused on being a solid service with a user friendly design and the sports, news, and entertainment channels viewers are looking for. Vidgo, still a relatively new service that launched in December 2019, is also working on adding and improving its apps and features to create a better user experience.

“At Vidgo, we are just getting started. We continue to build upon an exciting 85+ channel lineup that delivers what our discerning viewers demand; live sports entertainment, great local news, and classic program favorites,” Aiken said.
