Vidgo Adds Chromecast and AirPlay Support & New Social Features

Today, Vidgo announced several new updates for iOS and Android. With the update, Vidgo has added Chromecast and Apple AirPlay support, allowing subscribers to cast Vidgo content from their phones.

Vidgo launched with an emphasis on the Social TV feature. With Social TV, subscribers get an “immersive TV watching experience” that allows for real time chatting with friends, family, or strangers while watching TV. With this update, subscribers can get together for virtual YouTube parties. Groups of friends can have a ton of fun watching and interacting with YouTube in real-time, cueing up their favorite YouTube videos to watch together.

“We are continually looking for ways to make the Vidgo app in to the ultimate fun, interactive social experience for our streaming TV customers and future cordcutters.” said Glenn Booth, COO of Kiswe Mobile, Vidgo’s strategic partner in developing Social TV. “I would encourage users to stay tuned on a consistent basis, we plan to innovate Social TV in ways that we probably haven’t even dreamt of yet.”

Vidgo says that we’ll soon see a Fire TV update, along with a new feature called Live React, which will allow users to post livestreams of their reactions to what they watch.
