ViacomCBS Inks Deal for 14 Original ‘South Park’ Movies Heading to Paramount+

Paramount+ is getting 14 new straight-to-streaming South Park movies beginning this year. This comes as part of a new  $900 million deal ViacomCBS has made with series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone to keep the franchise on Comedy Central through 2027.

The new movies will be produced by Parker and Stone and premiere exclusively on Paramount+, beginning with two of the films hitting the streaming service later this year.

“Matt and Trey are world-class creatives who brilliantly use their outrageous humor to skewer the absurdities of our culture and we are excited to expand and deepen our long relationship with them to help fuel Paramount+ and Comedy Central,”said ViacomCBS executive Chris McCarthy. “Franchising marquee content like South Park and developing new IP with tremendous talent like Matt and Trey, is at the heart of our strategy to continue growing Paramount+.”

While the new deal secures more than a dozen new South Park films, WarnerMedia still has rights to the TV series in a deal set in 2019. HBO Max currently has exclusive streaming rights to the South Park TV series.
