ViacomCBS and Cox Sign Distribution Deal Including Networks and Streaming

ViacomCBS announced this morning a multi-year distribution deal with Cox Communication that will bring ViacomCBS channels and streaming services to Cox customers.

The deal includes ViacomCBS’ linear networks including BET, CBS Sports Network, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop TV, SHOWTIME, Smithsonian Channel, Telefe, TV Land and VH1. Cox customers will also have “expanded access” to ViacomCBS’ streaming services Paramount+, SHOWTIME OTT and Pluto TV.

“We are pleased to have reached significant agreements with Cox that offer our best-in-class entertainment across broadcast, cable and streaming on behalf of subscribers,” said Ray Hopkins, President, U.S. Networks Distribution, ViacomCBS. “Cox has been a valued partner for years and we look forward to working together to continuously serve millions of households through our long-standing partnership.”

ViacomCBS signed a similar distribution deal with Charter for Spectrum customers last month. When asked about the deal during its Q2 earnings call, Charter CEO Tom Rutledge said the terms reflected the evolution of video, calling the deal “a modern agreement.”
