Viacom & DIRECTV NOW Agree To a New Deal To Keep MTV, Comedy Central, Paramount & More on AT&T’s Streaming Service

Today Viacom and AT&T announced a deal to keep Viacom channels on DIRECTV NOW. AT&T and Viacom had until last Friday to strike a new deal or Viacom channels including Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, Paramount, and more would leave DIRECTV NOW. That deadline was extended and now with this new deal DIRECTV NOW customers who have Viacom channels will be able to keep their channels without interruption.

A statement sent to Cord Cutters News from AT&T and Viacom said “We are pleased to announce a renewed Viacom-AT&T contract that includes continued carriage of Viacom services across multiple AT&T platforms and products. The deal also brings AT&T customers more choice and improved value for Viacom content. We expect to announce additional details in the near future.”

This deal comes 2 days after Viacom’s deal with AT&T ended. As talks continued Viacom channels remained on DIRECTV NOW and now it looks like they will continue to remain on DIRECTV NOW or years to come.

Viacom and AT&T are not releasing any details at this time of what the new deal means for the future of Viacom on DIRECTV NOW.
