Verizon’s Stream Player Will be Android TV Powered & Come With A Free Month of YouTube TV

Verizon Store FrontWe started hearing about a potential new streaming device from Verizon this summer. Now, we have confirmation that this will be an Android-powered device.

Android TV Rumors was the first to report the news on Twitter, sharing that the Verizon device appeared on the Google Play Developer Console on Saturday. This is a good indication that the device will be launching in the very near future.

CNET confirmed in October that the device was in the processes of being developed. In that report, CNET mentioned that the box would be Android-powered and would come with a free month of YouTube TV. However, there was no mention of the Google Play store at that time.

We don’t know much about what to expect from the device just yet, but we do have photos from the FCC filing back in July and the listing on the Google Play Developer Console.

Verizon has not yet commented about when the device will be available. Reports about the upcoming device came along with announcements about Verizon’s 5G Home expansion which aims to bring quality, high speed internet to homes across the country.
