Verizon Is Expanding Their Unlimited 55+ Plan to New States

Women Using LaptopAre you over 55 years old or older? That makes you eligible for Verizon’s unlimited talk, text, and data plan.

This 55+ plan from Verizon launched last February in Florida and offers unlimited service for $60 per month for one line or $80 per month for two lines. Verizon is now expanding the service into Illinois and Missouri.

Verizon is not the first company to offer this plan. T-Mobile has for some time had a 55 and older plan offering two lines for just $70 a month. The T-Mobile plan also seems to be available nationwide.

As older Americans dive more into tech, companies like T-Mobile and Verizon are trying to find plans that will attract them. Focusing on the 55+ is not the only way wireless companies are hoping to expand their subscriber bases. T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon all offer an unlimited plan specifically targeting members of the United States military.

Verizon is also offering 6 months of Apple Music for free with Verizon Unlimited. T-Mobile is offering free Netflix, and Sprint is offering free Hulu. It seems that the race to buy subscribers is in full force.
