Verizon is Expanding Its YouTube TV Partnership

Last year Verizon started to sell YouTube TV with its 5G home internet. Now Verizon has announced a deal to sell YouTube TGV to Verizon Fios and Wireless customers nationwide. No date has been announced for when Verizon will start selling YouTube TV as apart of its Wireless and Fios products but it is expected to launch later on in 2019. This news comes after Verizon walked away from plans to launch their own live TV streaming service.

“We’re making it simple and seamless for Verizon’s customers to sign up to enjoy YouTube TV on-the-go on their mobile phones or tablets or at home on their big-screen devices,” Heather Rivera, YouTube’s global head of product partnerships at YouTube.

“As we pave the path forward on 5G, we’ll continue to bring our customers options and access to premium content by teaming up with the best providers in the industry and leveraging our network as-a service strategy,” Erin McPherson, Verizon’s head of content strategy and acquisition, said in a statement.

Details on the exact deal Verizon and YouTube TV have is unknown at this time. No word on any possible bundle discount for building the two services has been announced.
