Verizon Home Internet Expands With New Affordable Lite Plan

Verizon today rolled out a lower-cost Home Internet tier called Verizon Home Internet Lite (VHI Lite), designed to reach communities that previously had limited options and to give bargain-seeking households a reliable alternative to traditional ISPs.

Tailored for light internet households, VHI Lite expands Verizon Home Internet across the country to areas outside of the company’s Fios and 5G Home Internet footprint. For as low as $25 per month, the new plan is built for everyday browsing, email, social media, and streaming a show or two on a weekday evening. If your home uses lots of simultaneous 4K streams, large cloud backups, or heavy gaming across many devices, you’ll likely want a faster plan.

For anyone stuck with slow DSL or expensive satellite, Verizon says this sensible, lower-cost upgrade option will save more than $40 per month on average. Compared to traditional DSL and satellite ISPs, Verizon says on average, customers will save more than $40 per month with the new Lite plan.

Verizon Continues to Give Subscribers More

The launch of VHI Lite is another move as America’s largest mobility provider continues to invest in its technology and subscribers. Last month, Verizon announced it was acquiring Starry to expand its 5G Home footprint. The move is intended to accelerate Verizon’s home internet scale and reach. Verizon expects the deal to close early next year, subject to FCC approval.

During the ongoing federal shutdown, Verizon is offering flexible payment options for impacted military members and government employees. The shutdown is entering its second month, and thousands are working without pay, and Verizon is providing customer support during the crisis. Eligible customers can contact Verizon directly.

In recent weeks, Verizon has strengthened its promotions to entice new and existing customers. New Verizon Home Internet customers can score a free Nintendo Switch or a bundle. The company has even expanded its streaming perks for its existing customers with a discounted FOX One.

If you’re tired of slow DSL or expensive satellite and you mainly browse, stream a few shows, and email, check Verizon Home Internet Lite availability now online or in the My Verizon app to see if the $25 limited-time price is in your area.
