Update: Visible reached out to Cord Cutters News to say they are not a prepaid service. Instead Visible has a one month contract.
Now Verizon has a new service that will let you sign up for unlimited 4G data, messaging, and talk for just $40. This new service is called Visible and it’s an app you can install on your phone.
With Visible you not only get unlimited data but there are a few catches as with most prepaid phone services. The main catch is you are limited to 5 Mbps down as are most prepaid phone plans. The other downside is you cannot use your phone as a hotspot with a Visible plan.
The good news is Visible says they will never slow you down based on your data usage.
“We know other service providers charge you for extra speed that you don’t need and then slow you to a crawl at the end of the month, but Visible won’t slow you down based on your data usage. Heads up: when the network gets congested your data could slow up for a bit. But we promise you aren’t being punished,” Visible says in a statement on their site.
If you do not use tethering and want a cheap unlimited plan, this may be an option for you.
To sign up all you have to do is download the Visible app to your phone or visit their website HERE. There you can sign up and Visible will overnight you a sim card. Just make sure you know what the termination cost is for your current service.
