Verizon Fios Lost 51,000 TV Customers in The 4th Quarter of 2019

Verizon Store FrontToday Verizon announced their 4th quarter 2019 subscriber numbers. According to the report, Verizon Fios lost 51,000 TV subscribers in just three months. This comes as Verizon Fios residential video customers decreased by 67,000 in the 3rd quarter of 2019. Verizon Fios did add about 35,000 internet customers in the 3rd quarter of 2019. Overall Fios revenues went up.

Verizon says the loss of 51,000 Fios TV customers reflects “the ongoing shift from traditional linear video to over-the-top offerings.

AT&T has also reported its 4th quarter 2019 numbers, and so far over a million pay-TV subscribers in the 4th quarter of 2019. The question now is what will the other cable TV and satellite providers report int he weeks to come.

Soon Comcast, DISH, and others will post their 4th quarter 2019 earnings reports. With AT&T reportedly ready to report over a million lost TV subscribers for the second quarter in a row, we could see the total number of TV subscribers lost in the 4th quarter of 2019 to be over 2 million.
