Verizon Expands Its 5G Ultra Wideband Network

Kentucky is getting more 5G coverage as Verizon expands its network throughout the state, accompanied by more reliable connections and high-speed internet using up to 100 MHz of Verizon’s C-band spectrum.

Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband is fast enough to stream videos in HD, play video games as well as have crisp and uninterrupted video chats to name a few features. Providing more areas with faster mobile coverage will not only help residents but also connect first responders and emergency personnel to a reliable network during critical moments.

“Verizon is widely known for having an exceptionally reliable 5G network experience, and it’s exciting to see the positive impact our work has had in Kentucky,” said Dean Brauer, Vice President of Engineering and Operations for Verizon. “This technology will not only bring faster speeds and more reliable connectivity but expanding 5G service into more areas of Kentucky will unlock new opportunities for innovation and economic growth.”

Barbourville, Bowling Green, Butler, Carrollton, Corinth, Dry Ridge, Falmouth, Fort Knox, LaGrange, Lexington, Mt. Washington, Owensboro, Paducah, Richmond, Shepherdsville, Versailles, Warsaw, and Winchester are all getting access to Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network. More places will be added as Verizon makes additional C-band spectrum bandwidth by the end of this year.

A lot more people will have access to the internet, either through Verizon’s 5G network or Verizon’s Home Internet plans. To keep up with the increase in data delivery Verizon is also upgrading its fiber optic cable connections to several cell sites enabling them to carry 10 times the amount of data.

Verizon’s Home Internet plans start at $25 per month along with enrollment in AutoPay and paper-free billing. You must have an unlimited 5G post-paid mobile plan to secure this price. You can sign up for a free month-long trial and there are no contracts or data caps. Customers can change their data plans as their needs change.
