Univision’s PrendeTV Launches with over 10,000 Hours of Content

Univsion’s ad-supported Spanish language streaming service launched this week. PrendeTV launched with 40 channels and over 10,000 hours of content, giving it the “widest selection of the most popular Spanish-language programming available to viewers in the US” including content not found on any other streaming services.

Prende, Spanish for “switch on,” includes content from across a wide range of genres including Hollywood blockbusters and acclaimed global television series, novelas, comedies, classic sports, documentaries, lifestyle shows and children’s programming, along with Univision and Televisa’s libraries of programming.

“The launch of PrendeTV signals a new transformation era for Univision as we expand our already dominant position in U.S. Hispanic broadcasting into the AVOD streaming market and build on our leadership as the largest Spanish-language content and media company in the U.S.,” said Pierluigi Gazzolo, President and Chief Transformation Officer at Univision. “Anchored by our exclusive Univision and Televisa programming, we’ve brought together the best content providers, brands and distribution partners to create an unrivaled service for U.S. Hispanics in a way that only Univision can.”

PrendeTV is now available on Amazon Fire TV devices, Apple (iPhone and Apple TV), Google (Android phones, Android TV devices) and via web on www.Prende.TV. The app will be available on the Roku devices in the coming weeks.
