This deal will give Univision the ability to stream more content, including sports and news, on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to bring streamers the best of Univision without the cable TV bill.

“Univision is pleased to partner with Grabyo to expand our social and digital video content offering,” said Juan Convers, vice president, Business Development at Univision in a statement sent to Cord Cutters News. “Through this partnership, Univision continues to drive innovation in digital broadcasting and meet the demands of our audience. Live video is an important part of our strategy across all multi-platforms, especially for breaking news.”

“Grabyo is thrilled to have joined forces with Univision to bring its award-winning, live news coverage to a broader audience on social platforms,” adds Mike Kelley, president of Grabyo Americas. “We’re proud to be working with Univision to engage millions of Hispanic viewers in the US and beyond, and we look forward to building on our work with the news team, to also include sports and entertainment programming.”

Grabyo already has deals with Buzzfeed, BeIN Sports, Big Ten Network, The Premier League, and others to help them stream content online.

With this deal Univision clearly sees streaming as the future and is working on building up their capabilities to offer streaming content to a wider audience.
