Twitch Just Released Its First Original Documentary

You may know Twitch has a streaming service that lets you watch gamers play your favorite game. Now the Amazon-owned streaming service is branching out into original content.

In what Twitch Studio calls “testing the waters of original community-focused content,” Twitch released an original short documentary called Ironsights.

“There are a lot of amazing stories to tell about the Twitch community, which rarely get the attention they deserve,” said Marcus “djWHEAT” Graham, director of Twitch Studios. “With Twitch Studios, we are looking to shine a light on these stories and celebrate our community. A great example of this is Ironsights, which is how Sara Erlandson, one of our community members, made a name for herself in the highly competitive Big Buck HD scene.”

Ironsights revolves around Big Buck HD, an arcade hunting game released by Play Mechanix. It is popular in bars and includes features that allow players in different locations to qualify and compete in tournaments on the local to national level. As a result, it has cultivated a unique niche in the competitive gaming scene.

Twitch Studios’ other recent project is the weekly show called Fanboys, which debuted in February. Fanboys is an interactive show hosted by Twitch partner Geoff ‘iNcontroL’ Robinson, which features weekly guests discussing movies, television, and comics with the Twitch community. It airs on Twitch every Tuesday at 1:00 PM PST.

You can find Twitch for free on Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, and many other popular devices.
