If you are a fan of the HBO show “Silicon Valley” you will be able to watch the premier of season two for free live on Twitch. Before the premier the cast will have a special kick off on Twitch talking with fans and playing games. After the kick off special the full episode will be live on Twtich.

“We were initially impressed by the scale of Twitch as a platform,” said Sabrina Caluori, HBO’s vice president of digital and social media. “As we began working with them, we discovered that there’s real quality engagement in addition to huge reach — it’s rare to find both.”

Twitch is now owned by Amazon who already has a deal with HBO to stream their back catalog of shows. Hopefully this deal will be the first of many new partnerships with Amazon.

This is not the first non video game deal Twitch has. Recently they announced a deal to stream Ultra Live on their service.

HBO also released HBO Now their OTT service for cord cutters today. Currently only aviable to Apple customers but will be available to everyone later this year.
