Tubi wants you to watch TV and movies while you work, and they created a Chrome extension to help you get away with it.
Productubity is a Chrome extension that allows users to quickly switch between watching content on Tubi and opening a faux article about increasing productivity with the click of an icon when a coworker or manager is close by. The content is paused and ready to start again when the coast is clear.
“Return-to-office may be back, but so is streaming. Productubity is our cheeky nod to fans who sneak in a stream between spreadsheets,” said Deirdre Hesseldieck, Senior Vice President of Viewer Product at Tubi. “This tool is our way of helping fans reclaim their time and their tabs. It’s a wink to the modern multitasker who knows how to balance the deadlines with drama.”
Inspiration for the extension came from Tubi’s report, The Stream 2025: Audience Insights Shaping Streaming. According to the study, half of Gen Z workers stream content while working (and nearly 48% admit to lying to their boss about it.)
